GMLC open source and ready to use

We are excited to announce the release of the open source version of our Gateway Mobile Location Center (GMLC).

Location capabilities remain essential in telecom, powering everything from emergency response to real-time service personalization. This release supports broader adoption and integration, giving operators and technical teams the tools to build location-aware services with full control and flexibility.

This release supports standard geolocation requests and reporting across 2G (GERAN), 3G (UTRAN), and 4G (E-UTRAN) networks. It enables integration with a wide range of systems and platforms by supporting multiple protocols and message types, including:

  • Control plane protocols:

    • Diameter SLh, SLg and Sh reference points.

    • SS7 MAP (Lh and Lg interfaces).

  • User plane protocol:

    • OMA SUPL (prototype for immediate location request).

  • HTTP/JSON and OMA MLP APIs.

With this version, technical teams gain full access to a standards-compliant, modular geolocation core they can adapt, extend, and integrate into their networks and services, on their own terms.

This release marks an important step toward making core geolocation services more accessible and adaptable. In our next post, we’ll share the release notes for the GMLC.
