Stronger Security by Design

Security has become a foundational requirement for telecom platforms.

This release significantly expands HTTP security capabilities by introducing:

  • Basic Authentication
  • Bearer Token Authentication
  • API Key Authentication
  • Secure token lifecycle management
  • Bearer token blacklist support
  • Inbound HTTP authentication filters

Together, these enhancements provide flexible authentication options while strengthening API protection and access control.

Secure SMPP Connectivity

Security now extends beyond HTTP.

Open Source SMSC now supports SMPP over TLS, enabling encrypted SMPP communication between messaging platforms and service providers, helping operators meet modern security expectations without compromising interoperability.

Better Interoperability

Real-world telecom environments rarely consist of equipment from a single vendor.

Version 3.2.0 introduces support for ANY SMPP Interface Version, allowing service providers to connect without enforcing a specific SMPP version.

This improves compatibility across diverse SMPP implementations while simplifying onboarding and integration.

Reliable Multipart Message Processing

Multipart SMS handling has also received major improvements.

The platform now correctly processes and assembles multipart SMS messages across multiple SMPP sessions belonging to the same bind.

SMPP ↔ HTTP Proxy Mode

One of the most exciting additions in this release is the introduction of Proxy Mode.

The platform can now operate as a bidirectional proxy between SMPP and HTTP service providers, opening new deployment possibilities while simplifying protocol integration.

Easier Platform Administration

Managing gateways should be simple.

Version 3.2.0 redesigns gateway administration by replacing modal-based configuration with dedicated management pages for SMPP and HTTP gateways, making administration cleaner, faster, and more intuitive.

Improved Reporting

Reporting accuracy has also been enhanced.

Multipart SMS CDR generation has been optimized to eliminate unnecessary records for unsent message segments, providing cleaner reporting and more accurate operational insights.

Better Runtime Performance

Operational stability matters.

The pending DLR store has been redesigned using an optimized Caffeine cache with automatic expiration and size limits, preventing stale data accumulation, reducing memory usage, and improving runtime performance.
